Other Useful Fire Stuff

Here is some fire stuff that you may find useful:

The Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, has been providing specialized crews and single resources for wildland firefighting across the country since 1973.

Specialized Crews - Track Pennsylvania's specialized crews as they fight US wildfires.

The Eastern Area Coordination Center (EACC) serves federal and state wildland fire agencies within the twenty-state Eastern Area (EA). EACC provides logistical support, resources, and intelligence for anticipated and ongoing wildland fire activity. EACC facilitates movement of resources (people, aircraft, ground equipment) among the EA member agencies and their individual units. EACC monitors wildfire potential, weather, and wildland fire use with the EA. EACC also responds to requests for support to other geographic areas from the National Interagency Coordination Center (NICC) at Boise, ID.

The purpose of this compact is to promote effective prevention and control of forest fires in the Middle Atlantic region of the United States by the development of integrated forest fire plans, by the maintenance of adequate forest fire fighting services by the member states, and by providing for mutual aid in fighting forest fires among the compacting states of the region and with states which are party to other regional forest fire protection compacts or agreements.
